The SCMHA Annual General Meeting will be held Sunday March 25th. Location and time TBA.
This is your association so have your say. Prior to the meeting, some tasks need to be completed.
Stoney Creek Minor Hockey will be accepting Motions and Amendments to be presented at the AGM on March 25th.
All motions must be sent to the secretary (rszumilas@cogeco.ca) by 6 pm on March 1, 2012

REP Tryout schedule 2012
After much confusion and discussion, the OHF has revamped the rep tryout rules again in terms of timing. The AAA centers will have the first 14 days as planned. The AA centers can start right after that as planned. The change is that the AA centers do NOT have to wait for the A centers for 14 days but can have the AE tryouts after thier AA tryouts are complete as was always the case in the past.
Based on this, SCMHA has booked the ice for the tryouts and wanted to get the schedule out to all right away.
The tryout rules and guidlelines will be posted later but there will be changes from the past years as an fyi.

The SCMHA Board of Directors is looking for a treasurer for the 2012/2013 season.
The position will become vacant on March 25th, 2012.
The general information for the position is :
Eligibility
A Director
(i) shall be eighteen (18) or more years of age,
(ii)shall not be an undischarged bankrupt or of unsound mind,
(iii)shall be a Member of the Association at the time of his or her election or appointment,
(iv) shall remain a Member of the Association throughout his or her term of office.
More specific to the role :
The Treasurer shall:
(i)shall have working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures obtained either from an accredited educational institution or by employment in this field.
(ii)If the Association cannot fill this position with a person with these credentials then the position will be filled by a suitable elected Director who will be responsible for the deposition of funds and the payment of bills.
(iii)All other record keeping, receipts, etc. will be outsourced to a reputable accounting or bookkeeping firm who will be responsible to fulfill all monthly and yearly reconciliations and reports for the Association.
(iv)This accounting/bookkeeping firm will be secured by tender and shall not have any direct affiliation with the Association.

HOCKEY CANADA MARCH BREAK CAMP
Registration is now open for the March Break Hockey Canada camp for kids aged 9 to 12. (Atom and Peewee age groups)
Last years camp was a great success and sold out quickly, so register asap as not to be disappointed !
